Hi My name is Melissa and I have been creating and crafting ever since I was
little. My love for antiques and primitives grew from sitting in my Grandma's
kitchen, which was beautifully decorated with "real" antiques that her family
grew up using. I always sat there wondering what it was like to "actually use"
the metal wash board to wash clothes, the red water pump to draw water from the
well, to gather plums and peaches in her old baskets...
She took me shopping to endless flea markets and craft festivals too. My grandpa
had a woodshop in their basement and when I was a child I would spend my time
collecting tiny bits of wood scraps to make my own crafty
'creations'.
I started stenciling when I was 10 (at Bible camp) and instantly loved painting!
I also taught myself to sew, and I would spend hours piecing together scraps for
doll clothes and curtains for my room. I even raided Grandma's closet and made myself
"new" outfits from her vintage 50's dresses!

I was blessed with a dear husband who loves woodworking as much as grandpa did. He makes all of the primitive furniture, benches, shelves, picture
frames, dry sinks, farm tables, and any thing else 'wood' seen in our photos.
Our primitive candles and beeswax items are made from Vintage or Antique Molds. We also make molds ourselves if we run
across a unique "little treasure" that would make the perfect soap bar or beeswax ornie. Our candles are handpoured from our fragrant and creamy wax blend. Multiple spice rubbings give our candles that old and early primitive look we all love!
All of my fabric FOLK ART items are handmade with care using both new and old textiles. I use osnaburg, vintage fabrics and antique quilts for all of my folk art creations.
We are a homeschooling family, and our girls have grown to love Estate Sales, Antiques and Flea Market finds.
